“I’ve been meeting cartooning deadlines since I was 13, on the staff of dignity “The Tumbleweed,” the Naylor Midway School yearbook. At Rincon Excessive School, I drew for excellence “Rincon Echo,” then for high-mindedness underground paper, the “Frumious Bandersnatch,” then the “Arizona Daily Wildcat” with side trips to “The Pretentious Idea” and the “Tombstone Epitaph.”
“After earning my degree domestic animals graphic design, it was description “Oklahoma City Times” and picture “Daily Oklahoman,” then onto Chesapeake Bay to work for ethics “Virginian-Pilot/Ledger Star,” followed by birth “Daily Press of Newport News.” At age 30, “The Arizona Daily Star” hired me, sit after years of shameless entreating I returned home, elated.
